The Senior Housing Assistance Group (SHAG) is a non-profit organization and the largest provider of affordable senior apartment homes in Washington State. SHAG offers affordable senior living communities in 25+ locations in the Puget Sound region, from Bellingham to Olympia, including eight locations in Seattle.
All of our SHAG senior living communities have income and/or age restrictions that residents must meet in order to qualify for an apartment. The age and income restrictions differ between communities. Visit your local community for specific details.

The minimum lease term is 6 months. However, there are a number of lease term options available, including 12-month leases. Please contact a leasing specialist for additional information.
It’s been proven that pet’s foster well-being. Small pets, such as cats or dogs weighing 25 lbs. or less, are welcome at SHAG senior living communities. There is a two-pet maximum per household and a $100 fee per pet is due at move-in. All pets are subject to approval by management.
In compliance with state and federal laws, we gladly accept Section 8 certificates and vouchers.
Absolutely. SHAG provides safe, affordable senior housing for people living on limited incomes. Potential residents are often surprised about the incomes allowed when living at one of our communities. Some of our senior living communities even have a number of units where no income restrictions apply.
Many SHAG residents contract with in-home care providers for housekeeping and medical help. Ask the community in which you are interested for a list of service providers in the area.
