All of our SHAG senior living communities have age restrictions that residents must meet in order to qualify for an apartment. The age and income restrictions differ between communities. Visit your local community for specific details.

The minimum lease term is 6 months. However, there are a number of lease term options available, including 12-month leases. Please contact a leasing specialist for additional information.
It’s been proven that pets foster well-being. Small pets, such as cats or dogs weighing 20 lbs. or less, are welcome at SHAG senior living communities. There is a two-pet maximum per household and a $250 fee per pet is due at move-in. All pets are subject to approval by management.
Yes! In compliance with state and federal laws, we gladly accept Section 8 / Housing Choice certificates and vouchers.
Yes, in compliance with state law, we will subtract the amount of the subsidy from the total of the monthly rent prior to calculating the income to rent ratio for qualification purposes.
Many SHAG residents contract with in-home care providers for housekeeping and medical help. Ask the community in which you are interested for a list of service providers in the area.

Residents of SHAG senior living communities are now required to carry property damage liability insurance coverage which covers certain common perils and with certain minimum liability limits. Such mandatory coverage is quite common today in the senior living and multifamily apartment living industry and provides mutual benefits to all parties concerned.
