Boardwalk Apartments participate in a program designed to maintain affordable rental apartment homes for age and income qualified senior residents.

Boardwalk Apartments I and II are located on Capitol Way North in the City of Olympia on a peninsula that extends into Budd Inlet in South Puget Sound. Views from the upper floors of the four-story buildings will include the Port of Olympia, two boat marinas, the State Capitol Building, and South Puget Sound.

All members of the household must be age 62 or older at the time of application.

100 apartments of the total 284 apartments in Boardwalk Apartments I and II are available only to applicants whose household income is equal to or less than 50% of the area median income. To qualify to rent those apartments, the annual household income may not exceed the following amounts:
     One-Person Household: $23,150
     Two-Person Household: $26,450

  The remaining apartments in Boardwalk Apartments I and II are available only to applicants whose household income is equal to or less than 60% of the area median income. To qualify to rent those apartments, the annual household income may not exceed the following amounts:
     One-Person Household: $27,780
     Two-Person Household: $31,740

The Boardwalk Apartments are located three blocks from the downtown core of Olympia. They are one block from the Farmers Market, one block from the Boardwalk at Percival Landing which extends along the waterfront between the Port of Olympia and the southern tip of Budd Inlet, one block from the Senior Center located in the Olympia Center, and two blocks from the Regional Intercity Transit Center which serves all of Thurston County.

Boardwalk Apartments I and II are identical buildings, each containing 142 affordable retirement apartment apartments. The buildings are access controlled, and each is serviced by two elevators. Some apartments are fully handicap accessible and the remaining apartments are readily adaptable for handicap accessibility. There is live-in management at our buildings. There are laundry facilities on each floor. Please ask for detailed information, as modifications may vary from building to building.

Each of our buildings boasts a beautifully enclosed courtyard, complete with landscaping. During the warmer months, patio furniture will be placed in the courtyard for the enjoyment of our residents. A spacious community/recreation room is located on the first level of each building, and is furnished with a full kitchen, tables, chairs, big-screen television and VCR for use by our residents. An assortment of games and puzzles also will be available for use in the community/recreation room. For those who wish to participate, various social activities will be arranged including monthly potlucks and birthday celebrations. Other activities will be arranged as a direct response to the interests indicated by our residents.
